Rinse the Nose Pipe® to remove any dust or old dried salt residue.
Fill the Nose Pipe® with lukewarm water. Use bottled water if you find your water supply is unpleasant. Dissolve into the full Nose Pipe® a ¼ teaspoon of plain non-iodized fine sea salt and for an even better irrigation solution one should add one eighth of a teaspoon or a level spoon of the enclosed measuring spoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
Over a bathroom basin slightly incline your head downwards and sideways and turn your eyes to look at the Nose Pipe®. Make a gentle watertight seal with the spout in your uppermost nostril. Keep your mouth open for breathing through while irrigating.
Flow is felt momentarily towards the back of the throat as it returns out of the lower nostril. Some minor adjustment of your head position may be needed. If stinging should occur, readjust your head so that it is not inclined too far or check that the salt concentration is correct.
Once complete, gently blow out through both nostrils at the same time, and then repeat with the Nose Pipe® on the other side. Observe nasal debris in the basin to prove how effective the Nose Pipe® has been.
After use we recommed rinsing the Nose Pipe® with water. Periodically sanitize your Nose Pipe® with boiling water or in a dishwasher.
